We are now recruiting a SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER  to the Trade Section. The Trade Section is operating under the auspices of the Embassy of Sweden in a separate Trade Promotion Office in Kyiv, Ukraine.

This focus of the senior project manager is to lead efforts in trade promotion and investment facilitation between Sweden and Ukraine. This role requires strategic oversight, stakeholder engagement, and expertise in managing complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives that align with Sweden’s trade agenda.

The role is working in close collaboration with team members and reporting to the Trade Commissioner of Sweden, Andreas Giallourakis.

Main tasks

  • Establish and expand networks with Swedish, Ukrainian, and international stakeholders to identify trade and investment opportunities.
  • Manage projects related to Swedish participation in Ukrainian infrastructure recovery initiatives.
  • Drive collaboration between Swedish companies and Ukrainian government entities, ensuring alignment with IFI frameworks and anti-corruption standards.
  • Lead business development efforts, from pre-sales to negotiation and closing of consulting projects.
  • Support Swedish companies in navigating Ukrainian tenders and regulatory environments.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in law, Economics, Finance, or Business Management.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience, including management consulting and strategic sales.
  • Expertise in managing multi-stakeholder projects and working with government clients.
  • Extensive experience with facilitating foreign direct investment into Ukraine and assisting foreign companies in establishing their presence in Ukraine.
  • Fluency in English and Ukrainian.

    Preferred Experience:

    • Experience with IFI-funded projects and legal frameworks.
    • Proven ability to lead multinational teams.

    Terms of employment

    The employment is a full-time position with 37,5 working hours per week from Monday to Friday. The successful candidate will be subject to a professional background check and satisfactory security clearance, with a probation period of three (3) calendar months. Staff recruited locally are subject to terms and conditions according to Ukrainian employment law and Swedish MFA guidance for local staff.

    Benefits include twenty-eight vacation days, wellness grant, health insurance, the possibility to be eligible for Swedish pension after 5 years of working for the embassy and a "13th salary". The physical office is separated from the Embassy Chancellery.
    Start date will be according to agreement.
