The 29th edition of the European Union Film festival took place at the National Gallery from 10-19th of May 2019.
A wide variety of films from 27 European members states were showcased. The Swedish contribution to this year’s festival was “The Cake General”, created by Swedish tv-personalities Filip Hammar and Fredrik Wikingsson. The film tells the story of Hasse P, an eccentric resident of "the most boring town in Sweden" who decides to put his sleepy hamlet on the global map by assembling the world's longest layer cake.
The embassy hosted a small reception prior to the screening, where the guests were treated to drinks and traditional Scandinavian hotdogs from Fung Kee Hotdogs, run by Swede Knut Randhem. Thank you to all who joined us for the screening!
