Löfven and Wallström’s agenda includes follow-up of the visit of the Secretary-General and members of the Security Council to Sweden in April, continued discussions on UN efforts to deal with crises and conflicts, UN reform and Sweden’s contributions to greater peace and security.
On 9 July, Prime Minister Stefan Löfven will chair an open debate on children and armed conflict. An ambitious resolution on children and armed conflict will be adopted at the occasion. Sweden believes that protecting children and upholding their rights promotes peaceful and sustainable societies.
