To mark International Women's Day, the Consul General of Sweden in Shanghai, Ms Lisette Lindahl, hosted a luncheon on female techno-entrepreneurship at her residence on March 6. Nearly 20 female representatives from Consulates General and companies in Shanghai took part in the event.
The luncheon was a joint event co-organized by the Consulate and Ladies Who Tech, a local community of women studying and working in the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) industries. Consuls General of Austria, Germany, Lao, Mexico, the Netherlands, Thailand, Venezuela and Vietman in Shanghai and female STEM representatives from China Net Cloud, General Motors China, Iqiyi and other Chinese and international companies shared their experience of working as female diplomats, technology professionals or entrepreneurs.
With the first feminist government in the world, Sweden has a long tradition of promoting gender equality. The current government has been prioritizing gender equality in both decision-making and resource allocation both nationally and internationally.
