Call for participation in the Eat Smart Challenge

26 maj 2020

The way food is produced, processed, distributed, consumed and wasted has a huge impact on our lives, communities and the environment. To give people a hands-on understanding of why our choice of food matters, the Consulate General and the Swedish Institute, together with local partners BottleDream and GoZeroWaste, are inviting you to explore food and the way you eat.

The Eat Smart Challenge is a campaign that encourages everyone to make the food system more sustainable by changing their way of eating in an easy and fun way. Globally it has inspired participants from more than 75 countries. In China, the Consulate launched it with an interactive offline dinner, which was live broadcast online on May 17. Now the campaign is going on on Wechat and open to the general public for participation.

From May 22 to May 28, seven challenges are released during seven days. Ranging from being vegetarian, cooking from scratch, trying new ingredients to loving leftovers and exploring local foodscape, these challenges are aimed to raise awareness and help everyone understand why our choice of food matters and how closely food is connected to a sustainable planet. The winners of the campaign will be awareded Daniel Wellington watch, Absolut Comeback edition and Oatly oat drink.

For more information about the campaign, please follow the Consulate's Wechat account “爱瑞典Isweden”.
