On April 24th, we will hold an event for those who are admitted to universities in Sweden from September this year.
Embassy staff will inform on how to apply for a residence permit and give advice on living in the country. In addition, there will be presentations by alumni and two universities from Sweden. This will also be one of the few opportunities for people who have studied at Swedish university to connect with each other.
Date: April 24, 2025, 18:30-21:00 (Registration starts 18:00)
Venue: Tsubame Hall, Institute of Science Tokyo (2-12-1 Ookayama, Meguro-ku, Tokyo)
Participation fee: Free
Eligibility:
・Students who will be studying in Sweden from the fall of 2025 (programme students / exchange students)
・Those who have previously studied at a Swedish university
(Neither national high schools nor high schools are included.)

19:05-19:20 "Student life in Sweden and subsequent career experiences through exchange and PhD studies" Dr. Takuya Iwaki
From 2011 to 2012, Dr. Iwaki studied at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) as an exchange student, learning control engineering and space engineering. After that, he worked for a private company before returning to the Royal Institute of Technology from 2016 to 2021, where he obtained his PhD. He currently works for the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA).
19:20-19:35 "Student life in Sweden and subsequent changes in perspective" by Ms. Kana Osawa
From 2023 to 2024, Ms. Osawa studied at Linköping University (LiU) as an exchange student, learning about support education for children with disabilities and EU politics. After returning to Japan, she participated in the Cabinet Office's international exchange program "Ship for Southeast Asian and Japanese Youth Program" as a Japanese youth, deepening her understanding of foreign policy and international cooperation. She has now returned to Chiba University and is conducting comparative research on the relationship between social ideals and the education systems of Sweden and Japan.
19:40-21:00 Part 2 Booth Individual consultation and social gathering
*Each university will have a booth at the venue where you can directly consult with alumni. We will create a name tag that can identify the major, so that participants could enjoy interacting with the same study major.
If you would like to attend this event, please register using the Google form. Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis and will be closed when the capacity is reached. There are separate forms for prospective students and alumni. Please register through the forms accordingly.
