How do I renew my passport? Child under 18 years old

Renewal of passports for children

The embassy receives passport applications on Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays. Below is information regarding the application process.

You book your appointment online (link below). When selecting the number of applicants, you must select 1, otherwise you will not see any time slots. Fill in names and details and then book more time slots if you are more people applying together.

For a person who has not yet reached the age of 18 and previously had a Swedish passport, the following is required:

• Apply in person at the embassy in Baghdad.
• Current passports must be presented as well as valid photo ID. Note that Iraqi passport is not accepted as proof of identity.
• If the applicant is registered as resident outside of Sweden, a residence permit in the country of residence must be presented. For example, Iraqi ID / passport.
• Passport fee, exact amount is paid in cash. The embassy does not give change so it is important to bring exact change. The embassy does not accept banknotes older that 2009. FEES
• The form "Uppgifter för prövning av svenskt medborgarskap" is filled in for each applicant. All fields must be filled in in advance.
• The form "Vårdnadshavares medgivande" is filled in by the parents of the child. The passport officer may witness the signature of the parents.
