2023 年，欧洲日在上海 瑞典驻上海总领事馆于5月9日在沪举办外交招待会，庆祝欧洲日。作为瑞典担任欧盟理事会轮值主席国活动之一，瑞典携手中国欧盟商会在艺仓美术馆共同举办该招待会。 欧洲日庆祝 1950 年 5 月 9 日的舒曼宣言，该宣言提议建立欧洲煤钢共同体，为后来发展成为欧盟奠定基础。 在这一天，也共同庆祝欧盟单一市场 30 周年，这使欧盟成为世界上最大的单一市场。
