Ambassador Nicola Clase is the Permanent Representative of Sweden to the United Nations since October 2024. Prior to her current appointment, Ambassador Clase was the Swedish Ambassador to Finland. She previously served as the Ambassador to the United Kingdom and additionally, she held the position of Ambassador for Migration and Refugee Issues.
Ambassador Clase's earlier assignments include postings in London and Copenhagen, as well as her role as State Secretary for EU and foreign affairs at the Swedish Prime Minister’s Office. During this period, she also served as the Swedish Prime Minister's EU Sherpa, representing Sweden in European Union matters.
Her academic credentials include a master’s degree in East Asian Studies from Stockholm University. She was also a fellow, followed by associate, at Harvard University’s Weatherhead Center for International Affairs.
