On December 12, Sweden's ambassador to the UN in Geneva, Magnus Hellgren, hosted over 240 international Swedes and their families for Lucia celebrations at the residence. Representatives from UN agencies and international organizations operating in the field of human rights, trade, research, humanitarian and global health , as well as disarmament and non-proliferation, were warmly welcomed.
Magnus Hellgren began the evening by emphasizing the importance of international cooperation and defending the international rules-based order conveying the government's warm thanks to Swedes who, through their work in the UN and international organizations, promote both global and Swedish interests and values. In these challenging times, Lucia is a symbol of hope.
