The Embassy of Sweden in Kiev carries out camera surveillance. The purpose of the camera surveillance is to prevent and investigate possible crimes, to increase the security of visitors and persons working on the embassy's premises, and to protect the embassy's property.
The Embassy of Sweden in Kiev is the data controller and is therefore responsible for ensuring that the processing of personal data in connection with the camera surveillance at the embassy complies with applicable regulations. The legal basis for the surveillance according to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is the exercise of authority or other task of public interest.
The video material is generally saved for 30 days. The material may be saved for longer if necessary to achieve the purpose of the recording, for example if the material is needed to investigate a crime.
Only a few people at the embassy have access to the personal data processed in connection with the camera surveillance. The embassy has taken technical and organizational security measures to protect the personal data.
The embassy may disclose personal data to another authority if necessary for the investigation of a crime. Recorded material may also be shared with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' security unit if necessary for the embassy's security. The data will not be transferred to a third country.
You have the right to contact the embassy to find out whether the embassy is processing personal data about you.
