We are recruiting a Security and Property Coordinator

We are recruiting a locally employed Security and Property Coordinator to the Consulate General of Sweden in Istanbul. Application deadline is 14 May 2025.

The Consulate General is situated in the Swedish Palace in Beyoğlu, an architectural and cultural heritage site built in 1870. The Consulate General carries out a wide range of activities spanning from migration, visas, consular affairs, to cultural and promotional events.

Main duties and responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Head of Administration/Security, and in close coordination with the Security Advisor, the Security and Property Coordinator is responsible for security arrangements and routines for the Consulate General, as well as for the Honorary Consulates of Sweden in Türkiye.

Tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Overall operational safety and security planning and execution.
  • Coordination of security arrangements, including around public events organized by the Consulate General, at the premises and elsewhere.
  • Maintain contacts with local security networks and local authorities to contribute to the security awareness of the Consulate General.
  • Coordinate and supervise maintenance work planned by the Swedish Property Board and Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs, carried out by their local contractor.
  • Crisis and disaster preparedness, including maintaining crisis and fire equipment and organizing fire and earthquake drills.
  • Point of contact for posted staff’s housing.


Requirements:

  • At least 5 years’ documented work experience in Security and/or Property Management fields.
  • Strong communication skills in spoken and written English and Turkish.
  • Organized, with the ability to work both independently as well as a team player
  • Service-minded and able to keep track of many tasks at the same time.
  • Ability to be proactive and take initiative

Qualifications

  • Experience from working at a consulate or embassy in a similar role.

General conditions

Salaries are individual and competitive. Vacation is 28 days per calendar year. SGK, plus additional medical insurance is paid for by the consulate general

The employment will start with a trial period.

The working week is 39 hours and 45 minutes. Hours might sometimes be longer during evening events or weekends. This is compensated with time during periods with lower workload.

Please note that you need to be a Turkish citizen to be considered for this position.
