Anna Hammargren was previously Director General for Administrative Affairs in the Ministry for Foreign Affairs in Stockholm, working on strategic planning as well as with crisis management among other things. She has previously been Ambassador to Morocco, Ambassador and Special Envoy at the department for the Middle East and North Africa, Deputy Director General at the department for international development cooperation and Deputy Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' planning staff. She has also served at the Swedish Embassies in Paris and Windhoek.
Sweden has diplomatic relations with almost all States in the world. It has embassies and consulates in around half of these. Sweden's foreign representation consists of approximately 100 missions abroad and 350 honorary consulates.
