JOB VACANCY - Driver to the Defence Attaché

The Embassy of Sweden in Korea strives to promote, broaden and deepen the excellent bilateral relations between the Republic of Korea and Sweden in a wide range of areas. A resident Defence Attaché office will be inaugurated on the 1st of August 2024, to continue the development of Sweden and Korea’s defence cooperation. The Embassy also monitors and reports on economics, innovation, politics and security in Korea and in the region. In all of these areas the Embassy maintains extensive contacts and networks within Korean Society.

We are now seeking an active and competent colleague for a new half-time position as Driver, primarily to the Defence Attaché. The position is permanent, 20 hours per week, and starting from August 1st 2024 with a 6-month probation.

Tasks as the Driver to the Defence Attaché:

  • Plans and conducts safe and timely driving for the Defence Attaché and the Embassy.
  • Takes care of the maintenance of the Embassy vehicles.
  • Assists in organizing logistics for high level visits and other visits.
  • Conducts messenger duties including the mail.
  • Conducts other tasks as required.

A successful applicant is expected to have:

  • A Level 1 Driver’s License and a track record of safe, accurate and smooth driving.
  • Excellent time management, organizational and orientation skills and an ability to work calmly under pressure.
  • Fluent written and spoken Korean. Basic proficiency in English is a plus.
  • An ability to initiate and perform maintenance tasks and to supervise maintenance workers.
  • A forthcoming personality who sympathizes with values such as openness, honesty, loyalty, discretion, flexibility and good communication.

The working hours (20 hours per week) are flexible, according to the Embassy’s needs. Overtime compensation is applicable during evenings and weekends.
