On 6 June, more than 450 people came together at the Swedish residence in Singapore to celebrate the Swedish National Day.
Ambassador Håkan Jevrell gave a speech where he talked about the development of the bilateral relations between Sweden and Singapore. Singapore was represented by Mr Sam Tan, Minister of State at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs. A traditional summer buffet was served with Swedish classics such as pickled herring, “smorgastarta”, salmon and roast beef on the menu. The choir “Svenska Ensemblen” sang Swedish folksongs and two Swedish musicians, guitarist Adam Hagstrand and violinist Kristina Ebbersten, also performed a traditional Swedish summer repertoir.
The national day celebration was organized by the Embassy together with Business Sweden, the Swedish Chamber of Commerce (SwedCham), the Swedish Women's Educational Association (SWEA) and the Swedish School.
The Embassy would like to extend a big thank you to our sponsors for making this celebration possible!
