On the 12th of December the Swedish Ambassador hosted the annual Lucia reception at his Residence.
A large crowd of people had the opportunity to enjoy one of Sweden’s foremost cultural traditions. Lucia represents a celebration of light over darkness and serves to welcome Christmas. The Swedish Lucia Choir performed a selection of Lucia carols and the guests were treated to a proper Swedish Christmas Table (julbord) complete with meatballs, pickled herring, ham and “risalamalta”! The Embassy would like to express a warm thank you to the fantastic choir and its conductor Annelie Nikou for bringing the Lucia tradition to Singapore!
