The Embassy of Sweden is seeking a multi-talented, creative and outgoing person to join our team as Promotion and Communication Officer
Your profile:
You are a positive person who is service-minded with a flexible approach. You are a team player, but you are also able to work independently. You have a background in communication, media or analysis. As a promotion and communication officer, you will be part of a team at the Embassy of Sweden in Singapore.
Responsibilities:
Under the guidance of the Deputy Head of Mission, the Promotion and Communications Officer will perform the following tasks:
Promotion
- Plan, manage and execute the Embassy’s promotion (business & trade, cultural) activities and events, often in cooperation with other Swedish or Singaporean external partners.
- Handle coordination, communication and activities with Business Sweden and the Swedish Chamber of Commerce.
- Manage programmes for high level delegations to and from Sweden.
- Building and maintaining a network of relevance for promotion activities.
Communication
- Manage Sweden’s public diplomacy in Singapore, including use of social media channels and to promote Swedish interests in Singapore.
- Contribute to and implement the Embassy’s communication plan, in line with the Communication Strategy, including actively communicating around the Embassy’s promotion projects, on trade, innovation, culture and the promotion of Sweden, to enhance their public impact.
- Produce, edit and design a variety of communications material in English, including text, images and video content for the Embassy’s social media outlets and public presentations.
- Building and maintaining a network of journalists, relevant social media actors for the Embassy.
Qualifications and experience:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, International Relations and Communications (or similar).
- Minimum of 5 years of professional working experience in matters related to the job description. Job position open to Singaporeans only.
- Excellent analytical, writing and editing skills, across a variety of communication formats, both verbally and in writing;
- Experience in building and managing relationships with a wide range of actors, including government officials
- Strong knowledge and interest in the political and economic developments in Singapore. Excellent knowledge of the political governance structure and functioning of relevant authorities.
- Strong organisational, coordination, multitasking and time management skills;
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines
- Strong social and communication skills
