16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence is an international campaign to challenge violence against women and girls.
The campaign runs every year from 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, to 10 December, Human Rights Day. This theme this year is #HearMeToo. Why hear me too?
1 in 3 women worldwide have experienced physical and/or sexual violence at some point in their lives. Impunity, silence, stigma and shame related to violence against women affects the Sustainable Development Goals. Violence against women is never just a private matter. Gender-based Violence effects all of society’s human development potential.
The Embassy will highlight how Sweden works within this issue in Serbia in some up-coming posts during the campaign!
