Updated : Important information for travel to and from North Macedonia

From September 1, 2021,

one of the following documents are required for entry to, and exit from, North Macedonia:

a) a certificate of immunisation/vaccination (two doses) against SARS-CoV-2, or

b) a medical certificate of a negative RT PCR SARS-CoV-2 test test no older than 72 hours, or

c) a medical certificate of recovery from Covid19 in the past 45 days calculated from the day of recovery, or

d) a negative antigen rapid test taken 48 hours prior to entering North Macedonia.

The certificates referred to above are not required for persons under 18 years of age.

For transit it is mandatory to sign a transit declaration stating that the person passing through will leave the territory of North Macedonia within five hours, and present the transit declaration upon exiting the country. Passangers who transit North Macedonia are exempt from presenting the above listed certificates.

Both North Macedonian citizens and foreigners who cannot present any of these certificates upon entry will be sent to a home isolation decision for seven days. It is possible to shorten the home isolation period to 5 days if a negative PCR test result is obtained in the country immediataly upon arrival.

The costs of the home isolation shall be beared by the foreign citizens themselves.
