How do we combat trafficking in human beings for the purpose of sexual exploitation?

04 Mar 2021, 3.00 PM - 4.30 PM

The Governments of France and Sweden decided in 2019 to develop a joint strategy to combat trafficking in human beings for the purpose of sexual exploitation in Europe and in the world. In this webinar, we will discuss this strategy and share best practices to combat this kind of trafficking.

Trafficking in human beings constitutes a serious violation of human rights. The majority of identified victims are women and girls, their sexual exploitation being the purpose of trafficking linked to organized crime in most cases.

The total number of victims has grown considerably following the unprecedented increase in irregular migration and forced displacement, due in particular to armed conflict, persecution and human rights violations.

France and Sweden have a joint strategy to combat trafficking in human beings for the purpose of sexual exploitation in Europe and in the world. In this webinar we will discuss the French, Swedish and Dutch strategies, legislation and victim support. We will also share best practices on how to combat trafficking on a national and international level.
