Representatives of Resonance Centre (NGO), a core-support partner working in Transnistrian region to fight domestic violence, have participated recently at the 62 session of the UN Commission on the Status of Women in New York.
The event was an excellent opportunity for civil society to share best practices and experience in combating violence against women, engaging men and boys in overcoming gender inequalities, development of standards applicable for effective response to intimate partner violence and economic empowerment for women.
Resonance discussed with the Swedish State Secretary Mrs Pernilla Baralt about main achievements in women's rights promotion and protection supported by Sweden in Moldova and with UN Women Executive Director Mrs Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka about the opportunity to enforce UN Women strategy activities on the left bank of river Nistru.
Sweden supports Resonance Centre through core –support program in 2016-2019 in fighting domestic violence and promoting gender equality in the Transnistrian region of the Republic of Moldova.
