Norway will temporarily not be able to process Schengen visa applications for citizens and residents of Malawi who are applying for a Schengen visa to Sweden.
Starting from the 28th of March 2025 all visa applications will temporarily be processed by the Swedish Embassy in Kenya.
Citizens and legal residents of Malawi can apply at any of the VFS visa application centers located in the below mentioned countries;
Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Nigeria, South Africa, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

Please note that when submitting an application in any of the countries mentioned above you will not be able to keep your passport during the period your visa is being processed. The passport will be sent to the Swedish Embassy in Kenya for processing. The processing time for a Schengen visa is generally 15 days but can also be extended up to 45 days in some circumstances. Please note that the days are counted from when the Embassy has received the application and not when the application was submitted at VFS Global.
