The EU has revised its Visa Code in order to facilitate visa procedures for travellers. Sweden together with other Schengen countries will start applying the new Visa Code on 2 February 2020. The visa fee will be increased to EUR 80 for adults and for children aged 6–11, the visa fee will be EUR 40.

Sweden has diplomatic relations with almost all States in the world. It has embassies and consulates in around half of these. Sweden's foreign representation consists of approximately 100 missions abroad and 350 honorary consulates.
