The two heads of government confirmed the excellent bilateral relation and looked forward to continued cooperation, especially in the areas of trade and investment. Climate, digitalization, gender equality, and disarmament were other areas where there was scope for close cooperation. Prime Minister Löfven also offered his condolences on the occasion of the 10th commemoration of the catastrophic earthquake and tsunami that hit Japan on March 11, 2011.
Sweden has diplomatic relations with almost all States in the world. It has embassies and consulates in around half of these. Sweden's foreign representation consists of approximately 100 missions abroad and 350 honorary consulates.
