Ambassador Viktoria Li has been the Swedish Ambassador to Japan since September 2024.
Viktoria Li joined the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs in 1995 and has previously served as Head of Communications at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, the Ambassador to the Czech Republic and Consul General in Shanghai. She has been posted at the Embassies in Beijing, Rome, Zagreb and at the Representation to the European Union in Brussels. Viktoria Li holds a Master of Laws from Stockholm University, a Postgraduate Degree in International Relations from Amsterdam School of International Relations and a Master of the Rights of the Child from Fribourg University.
Viktoria Li is the 14th Swedish ambassador to Japan and the first woman to hold the position.
Sweden has diplomatic relations with almost all States in the world. It has embassies and consulates in around half of these. Sweden's foreign representation consists of approximately 100 missions abroad and 350 honorary consulates.
