Vacancy: Trade Promotion Officer

The Consulate General of Sweden in Hong Kong is recruiting a multi-talented, creative and outgoing person to join the Consulate team as a full-time Trade Promotion Officer.
Your tasks:
- Plan, initiate and execute the Consulate’s trade promotion strategically and with a high degree of independence, including but not limited to delegations, exhibitions, receptions and other forms of events
- Follow and analyze developments in prioritized sectors of the Hong Kong business landscape
- Cooperate closely with local trade promotion actors including Swedish Chamber of Commerce and Business Sweden Hong Kong
- Establish networks and collaborations with counterpart trade promotion organisations in Hong Kong and Sweden and other relevant stakeholders
- Manage and curate trade-related content for the Consulate’s social media accounts
- Oversee and administer trade promotion budget
- Support cross-mission activities whenever necessary
- Perform any ad-hoc duties as requested
Good to have:
- Experience in studying or working in a Nordic context
- Strong trade profile
- Experience in working with sustainability
- Proficiency with bookkeeping/accounting
- Knowledge of Sweden, Swedish values, and Swedish business landscape
Desired Qualifications and Skills:
- At least four years’ experience in trade promotion, business development, marketing or a related field, with a track record of independently managing projects and delivering results, e.g. identifying and prioritizing trade promotion opportunities aligned with organizational goals, identifying potential partners and contacts
- Strong local connections and in-depth understanding of the international trade, business environment and relevant government entities and other relevant local trade actors
- Skilled at researching and connecting with relevant contacts, with an interest to build a robust network to support trade and promotion goals
- A self-starter with strong initiative, who is capable of independently identifying opportunities for the Swedish business community and drive outcomes and follow-up action
- Strong organizational skills and ability to handle duties in a structured and efficient way
- Professional demeanor and a team player, with the confidence to engage maturely with senior-level external stakeholders to create the right ground for continuous engagement
- A Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related fields
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, in English, Cantonese and preferably also in Mandarin
- Flexibility to pitch in to team efforts
