Authentication and Apostille stamp

The Embassy in Athens does not authenticate documents nor issue ‘Apostille’ stamps.

In case Greek authorities require authentication of documents, it shall be made in Sweden at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Utrikesdepartementet) in Stockholm.

Authentication involves certifying the signature and seal/stamp of a Swedish record. However, it does not involve certifying the content of a document.

If an Apostille stamp is required, please contact the County administrative board (Länsstyrelsen) in Sweden about information on Notarius Publicus.
