Artist: Sigrid Bensow (1882-1954)

   

Sigrid Bensow, born Nauclér (1882-1954) was a Swedish painter and draughtswoman.

She studied at the Higher School of Art and Industry in Stockholm from 1901 to 1906 and later at the Sköld School of Painting and during study trips to Finland, the Netherlands, France, Hungary and other countries. She was employed as a draughtsman at a graphic arts institute from 1906 to 1910, but painted only occasionally between 1910 and 1929. She made her debut in 1941 in an exhibition at the Norrköping Art Museum and subsequently participated in exhibitions with the Swedish General Art Association and the Östgöta Art Association. Her art consists of flower still lifes, portraits, landscapes and street scenes. Bensow is represented at the Gothenburg Art Museum, Moderna Museet and Norrköping Art Museum.
