Swedish Sustainable Fashion celebrated in Shanghai

On December 13 and 14, the Consulate General, in collaboration with the Swedish Institute and five Swedish fashion brands—Charlotta Gandolfo, Gina Tricot, Happy Socks, Madnomad, and Pampas—hosted two events themed around Swedish sustainable fashion at Hellas House in Shanghai.

A winter reception was held on the first day. Ambassador Marie-Claire Swärd Capra, Consul General of Sweden in Shanghai, delivered welcome remarks, followed by a catwalk showcase of 30 outfits from Charlotta Gandolfo, Gina Tricot, Happy Socks, Madnomad, and Pampas. The highlight of the catwalk was the final look inspired by Lucia, in celebration of the Swedish tradition on December 13. The evening continued with a networking session attended by guests from the fashion industry, business community, and diplomatic circles. The "Fashion Forever" exhibition from the Swedish Institute, along with displays from the five Swedish brands, added to the event's allure.

The second day was dedicated to interactive workshops and exhibitions. Linnéa Samia Khalil, founder and head designer of Pampas, led a workshop on transforming garments without sewing. Another workshop hosted by lifestyle influencer Sylvia Li focused on building a sustainable wardrobe, which included a clothes swap, was open to the public.

In total, the event attracted more than 200 participants over the two days. This initiative aimed to highlight innovative sustainable fashion practices. By creating a platform for networking and collaboration, we sought to enhance opportunities and brand visibility for Swedish designers.
