For its fourth consecutive year, around twenty Swedish companies participated in this year's China International Import Expo, CIIE - Asia's largest import fair –– which is held in Shanghai since 2017.

24 Swedish companies operating in the Chinese market participated in the Expo on 5 - 10 November counting for several more than previous years. And even though overseas business representatives missed out on the event due to continued strict COVID entry restrictions into China, the activity among local Swedish business participants was intense.

CIIE's focus this year on sustainability provided an interesting theme for Swedish companies since many are particularly competitive in this area. Notably the transport sector offered a strong presence through companies such as Scania, Volvo Group, and Volvo Cars, but so did also Swedish industrial companies like Alfa Laval and Epiroc, and within the IT segment, Ericsson. Astra Zeneca presented a well-attended pavilion on biotech & life science. And with its innovation theme and a clear climate focus, H&M presented a stylish exhibition focusing on circular consumption in clothing with exciting new recycled materials and opportunities. IKEA also followed up on its already well-established green theme, this year also with the opportunity for visitors to discover the company's new holistic concept for modern and sustainable living.
