On April 22 the Consulate General of Sweden in Shanghai together with the Swedish Institute organized a pre-departure event in Shanghai for Chinese students admitted to Swedish universities for the fall semester of 2018. The event provided them with an opportunity to learn more about Sweden and tips on life as a student in Sweden.
More than 130 Chinese students, all of whom have applied for bachelor's or master's programs in Sweden, participated in the event. It started with presentations on general information of Sweden and practical information on living in Sweden by representatives of the Consulate. They were followed by a panel discussion of Chinese alumni, who shared their studying experiences in Sweden. Apart from that, representatives from Lund University, Uppsala University, Chalmers University of Technology, KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm University, Umeå University and Linnaeus University provided information about their respective universities.
Swedish universities offer more than 1 000 programs in English starting in autumn 2018. For mater's programs alone, more than 1 000 applicants from China have been admitted.
