IKEA:s first store in China, which opened in 1998 and is located in Xuhui district in central Shanghai, was reinaugurated on August 12 to introduce the new concept of IKEA Home Experience of Tomorrow.
Following four months of reconstruction, the Xuhui store has been adapted to new demand and trends. This is done by creating an open, dynamic and creative environment that offers tailored solutions for interior design as well innovative opportunities for co-creation and exchange of ideas on design.
The inauguration was hosted by President of IKEA China Anna Pawlak-Kuliga and was attended by representatives of the local government of the Xuhui district. The Consulate General was represented by Consul General Marie-Claire Swärd Capra and Consul Jakob Holthuis.
