21 to 23 January, the Consul General of Sweden in Shanghai Lisette Lindahl visited Taizhou and Wenzhou at the invitation of the Municipal People’s Governments of the two Zhejiang province cities.
In Taizhou, the Consul General met with Vice Mayor Zheng Minqiang and visited the Taizhou Urban Planning Museum, the Geely-Volvo Ya’ou car plant and sanitary product company Orans. In Wenzhou, the Consul General met with Vice Mayor Yin Zhijun and visited Wuma street, the Wenzhou Civic Center and the Wenzhou Medical University.
The Consulate General in Shanghai represents Sweden in Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Anhui. Many Swedish companies are present in Zhejiang, and the province has close to 200 Swedish residents. Zhejiang company Geely which acquired Swedish car manufacturer Volvo Cars in 2010 was founded in Taizhou.
