Changes in the entry ban from 21 January 2022

25 Jan 2022

As of 21 January, people travelling to Sweden from countries in the EU/EEA, including the Nordic countries, must be able to present the EU Digital COVID Certificate or an equivalent certificate showing that they have either been vaccinated against COVID-19, tested negative within 72 hours prior to arrival or recovered from COVID-19 within the past 6 months. This requirement applies to foreign nationals who are 18 or older.

Foreign nationals travelling to Sweden from a country outside the EU/EEA must still be covered by one of the exemptions from the entry ban and also be able to present a negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours prior to entry into Sweden, or be exempt from the test requirement, to be able to enter the country. There are exemptions from the entry ban and the test requirement, such as for travellers with vaccination certificates issued in certain countries.
