The Swedish Ambassador to China, Helena Sångeland, greeted the guests and informed about upcoming activities at the Embassy; a trip to Shenzhen with the Embassy’s life-science platform to learn more about the region and strengthen the Swedish presence, the Ambassadors accreditation to Mongolia and the acknowledgment of 55 years' of Swedish and Mongolian diplomatic relations, as well as the Swedish pavilion with a focus on transportation and energy during the big import fair in Shanghai, CIIE to name a few.
The Swedish chamber of commerce in China, SWEA (Swedish Women’s Educational Association) and Church of Sweden were also present during the evening to inform about their upcoming activities.
During the last couple of years, the number of Swedes in China has decreased. On April 30 in 2017, the total amount of Swedish citizens in China was 2590, and at the same date two years later, a total of 1898 Swedish citizens were registered in China; 273 in Beijing and 859 in Shanghai.
