Accept all Only criticalThe Embassy of Sweden in Beijing together with the Consulate General of Sweden in Shanghai, the Swedish Chamber of Commerce in China and Business Sweden have jointly conducted a business climate survey among Swedish companies in China. The findings show that despite the negative impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic on both production and sales, Swedish companies in China continue to demonstrate a positive outlook on future growth in the market.
Close to two-thirds of Swedish companies expect sales results and profits to be on par with or higher than 2019 levels. At the same time, the companies highlight a number of obstacles in China. These relate to difficulties in attracting the right talent, bureaucracy and the society’s underperformance when it comes to sustainability, where further improvements can be made from various aspects.
The Business Climate Survey was produced together with the Consulate General of Sweden in Shanghai, the Swedish Chamber of Commerce in China and Business Sweden. As of 2020, the survey for China will be carried out on an annual basis. The survey was sent to the Swedish Chamber of Commerce’s members, 93 out of eligible 183 companies responded.
