Accept all Only criticalOn Monday and Tuesday, 21-22 September, Ambassador Helena Sångeland visited the Hammarby Eco City in Yantai, Shandong province, met and discussed with representatives of Swedish companies contributing to the development of the area, and participated in the 5th White Peak Safety Day and ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) Forum.
The Hammarby Eco-city in Yantai is a residential area inspired by Hammarby Sjöstad, a smart eco-city and a global model for urban redevelopment in Stockholm, Sweden. The Hammarby in Yantai area is being developed by White Peak and the China-Sweden Hammarby Eco City Alliance, a group of companies committed to sharing Swedish sustainable technologies and solutions to the benefit of sustainable city development in China, as well as Chinese stakeholders.
The 5th White Peak Safety Day and ESG Forum focused on workplace safety. Representatives of White Peak, ABB, Assa Abloy, Envac, SWECO and SEB, as well as of universities and government, shared how they work with worker safety as a key aspect of sustainability in their respective businesses. Ambassador Sångeland delivered a keynote speech and handed out White Peak’s annual safety achievements awards to its staff and contractors.
