The Swedish Embassy represents the Swedish government in Austria and is at the same time Sweden's Permanent Mission to the United Nations in Vienna (UN).
The task of the Embassy is to strengthen the relations between Sweden and Austria, to spread information about Sweden and to support Swedish interests and activities in Austria.
Since 2010, the Swedish Embassy in Vienna has also taken over the representation for Slovakia.
Sweden has diplomatic relations with almost all States in the world. It has embassies and consulates in around half of these. Sweden's foreign representation consists of approximately 100 missions abroad and 350 honorary consulates.
