The Swedish Government and its agencies are continuing their efforts to provide support to victims of the earthquakes. Sweden’s overall support to the earthquake victims in Türkiye and Syria now exceeds EUR 19.9 million.

The Swedish Presidency of the Council of the EU and the European Commission have also jointly taken the initiative to host a donor conference for those affected by the earthquakes. The donor conference, which will be held in Brussels in March, is being organised in coordination with the Turkish authorities.
Sweden is also one of the world’s largest humanitarian donors. Sweden provides major core support to both the UN and the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies. This core support is crucial for humanitarian organisations to be able to quickly provide assistance in an acute crisis without having to wait for needs assessments, emergency appeals or additional support from donors.
Sweden has diplomatic relations with almost all States in the world. It has embassies and consulates in around half of these. Sweden's foreign representation consists of approximately 100 missions abroad and 350 honorary consulates.
