Queer Screen's 30th Mardi Gras Film Festival will be taking place 15 February-2 March, which will coincide with Sydney hosting WorldPride.
Swedish award-winning film So Damn Easy Going will be screened on 17 and 28 February.
So Damn Easy Going (queerscreen.org.au)
Perfectly capturing the charm and chaos of first love, So Damn Easy Going is a captivating adaptation of the critically-acclaimed Swedish young adult novel.
As if being a teenager wasn’t hard enough, Joanna is dealing with the recent loss of her mother, her father’s depression, and her own ADHD. But her meds have run out and so has her money, so she’s left navigating flashes of sensory overload. And the timing couldn’t be worse when Joanna falls for her gentle and astute new classmate, Audrey. This darkly comedic film impressively balances the highs and lows of a burgeoning high school sapphic romance amidst the mounting anxieties of an adolescence magnified by neurodiversity.
