If you were a resident in Sweden on 31 December 2020, your right to work will stay the same, as long as you remain resident. The registration opened 1 December 2020 and you will have to apply before 30 September 2021.

From 1 November 2022 applicants who submit, or who already have an open application for a residence permit (including work, study or close family ties), must visit the Embassy to show their valid passport in the original.
This can be done during the Migration Section’s opening hours without prior appointment. Biometrics (fingerprints and photograph) may be taken at the same time.
