The quickest and easiest way to apply for a visa is to contact the Embassy’s cooperation partner VFS Global (http://www.vfsglobal.se/ukraine/english/), online booking, phone numbers (+380) 44 594 96 23 or (+380) 50 323 85 93. If you apply via VFS Global, you do not have to visit the Embassy in Kyiv in person. To make an appointment is always free of charge.
You present your application in person at one of the VFS Global visa application centers. They can also provide you with information and other kinds of services.
VFS Global charges a service fee over and above the visa fee for their services. Visa applications can be submitted in the following cities in Ukraine:

There is a limited possibility to hand in your visa application at the Embassy of Sweden in Kyiv. You can submit an application at the Embassy in case of severe diseases or funeral. However, you have to make an appointment in advance via VFS Global, online booking, phone numbers (+380) (0)44 594 96 23 or (+380) (0)50 323 85 93.
How to proceed:
1. Prepare the documentation
Check which documents and personal information you need. You must for instance have arranged for a passport and medical travel Insurance. If you're visiting a friend or relative in Sweden, you must also have an invitation from him or her.

2. Make an appointment
To make an appointment at the Swedish Embassy, you contact VFS Global, online booking, phone numbers (+380) (0)44 594 96 23 or (+380) (0)50 323 85 93, free of charge.
Official delegations of maximum 5 persons that have an invitation from the Swedish Parliament, Swedish Government Offices or Swedish ministries or are a part of a state visit should contact the Embassy directly, visa.kiev@gov.se or phone +380 44 494 4290 (Monday to Thursday 14.00-15.00), for an appointment.
3. Pay the application fee
The visa fee is subject to monthly changes. Therefore, please check the current fees on our homepage before applying. If you submit your application for a Schengen visa to visit Sweden at one of VFS Global's Visa Application Centres throughout Ukraine, you should pay the application fee there.
All applicants who apply directly at the Swedish Embassy must pay the fee before submitting the application. You must submit the receipt (in original) from the bank to the Visa Section of the Embassy when applying for a visa. The following bank details have to be used:

You can pay the fee to any bank in Ukraine, not only OTP Bank branches. Please note that only those who submit an application directly to the Embassy should pay the fee to this bank account. NB! The fee will not be refunded in case of a rejection.
4. Visit the Embassy
Bring the completed application form, all the required documents and a receipt of payment in original to the Embassy at the appointed time. During the visit, you may be required to answer some additional questions.

NB! Starting June 23, 2015 Visa Information System is introduced among the Schengen Member States in Ukraine From that date all applicants over 12 would need to appear in person in order to provide biometric data (fingerprints and digital photography), which is a simple and discreet procedure.
5. Wait for the decision
When a decision has been made regarding your visa application, your passport will be returned to VFS Global.
Passports, decisions and residence permit cards (UT-cards) may be retrieved at the Embassy upon pre-booked appointments.
Otherwise the Migration Section of the Embassy is closed to the public and is only receiving pre-booked applicants.
You can retrieve the passports of your children even though they are not present together with you at the Embassy, but if your spouse cannot be present at the passport retrieval, you need a written consent from him/her that you can retrieve his/her passport in his/her absence.
