Changed opening hours at the Migration Department

Due to limited staffing at the Swedish Embassy in Moscow, the Migration Department will temporarily change its opening hours and availability from 1 September as below. The Embassy intends to return to regular opening hours and availability as soon as possible.

Reception hours: Monday - Tuesday, 08.30-11.30

Telephone hours: Monday – Tuesday, 15.00-16.00

Interviews for residence permits continue to be held at the Embassy to a limited extent and with limited slots for interviews.

Biometrics, passport control and the handing out of residence permit cards can be done without an appointment during the specified opening hours.

For the time being, it is not possible to apply for a Schengen visa to Sweden either at the Embassy or at VFS Global.

Exceptions are only made for urgent situations where the application can be submitted directly at the Embassy.

The need for an urgent visa shall be substantiated by a medical certificate or other relevant documents. The Embassy staff assesses what falls within the framework of emergency/distressing circumstances. No advance notice can be given.

Application for a national visa (D-visa) can be accepted at the Embassy in cases where there are special grounds. NB! An application for a national visa cannot be made instead of an application for a Schengen visa!
