Business, conference, cultural, training and sports visit – extra documents
If you apply for a visa to visit Sweden for business, conference, sports or cultural visits you need the documents listed below.
The forms must be completed either in Swedish or in English. Documents issued by the authorities in your country of origin are to be submitted together with a translation in Swedish or English by an authorised translator.

For Business visits you must have:
- The documents required by all visa applicants. Read more under ‘Required documents’.
- The invitation (in the original) from the company or organisation in Sweden stating:
- your personal information
- the duration and purpose of the visit
- who will be responsible for supporting you financially during your stay.
- Certificate from employer stating that you will be visiting the Swedish company and the duration of your stay.
- Certificate from the Chamber of Commerce if you are the company owner.
For conference or a training course visits you must have:
- The documents required by all visa applicants. Read more under ‘Required documents’.
- The invitation (in the original) from the company or organisation in Sweden containing the following details about you and the conference you are attending:
- personal information
- arrival and departure
- the purpose of your visit
- who will be responsible for supporting you financially during your stay.
- Conference programme or the equivalent and a copy of the list of participants.
For cultural and sports visits you must have:
- The documents required by all visa applicants. Read more under ‘Required documents’.
- If the purpose is a cultural activity – the invitation from whoever is organising the event in Sweden.
- If the purpose is a sporting activity – a document from the national association of the sport concerned in your country of origin showing that you are active in this sport.
