Malaysian citizens do not need visas for short term visits to Sweden, i.e not longer than 90 days. The Embassy of Sweden in Kuala Lumpur does not have a migration section and does not handle migration issues - visas or other permits - for travellers from Malaysia to Sweden. The Embassy of Sweden in Bangkok is responsible for these matters.

The Swedish Migration Agency is introducing new procedures for stricter checks of passports in connection with application for a residence permit. From 1 November, applicants for a resident permit must show their passport at an in-person visit before the Swedish Migration Agency can make a decision. For more information, please visit the website of Swedish Migration Agency.
Please note that the Embassy of Sweden in Kuala Lumpur does not have a migration section and does not handle migration related issues which means that we are unable to perform this identity check. Please contact the Embassy of Sweden in Bangkok regarding this matter.
