Gothia Cup 2024 visa applications

Key date

15th of May 2024- Latest date to apply at VFS visa application centre in order for the Embassy to process the visa application on time. You can apply for a Schengen visa up to 6 months before your indented travel.

Fees

All participants who are listed in the official invitation letter from Gothia Cup are exempted from paying the visa fee. However, the service fee at VFS Global is mandatory. Parents and other accompanying persons are not exempted.

How to apply

You can apply at optional VFS visa application centre within any of the countries the Embassy covers in the region, as long as you are a citizen or a legal resident. The Embassy advises you to do the following to ensure a rapid visa process.

1. Apply as a team- all persons in respective team applies together.
2. Checklists

The documents that an applicant that intends to visit Sweden for less than 90 days needs to present differs depending on in what country the applicant is residing in, and what the reason for the intended trip is. All applicants are responsible of providing the documents in the relevant check list, if the application is not complete the Embassy will decide based on the existing documents.

All applicants are also free to submit any additional documents of their choice to support the application.

Processing times

The processing of the visa application can take up to 15 days.

Please note that the days are counted from when the Embassy in Nairobi has received the application and not when the application was submitted at VFS Global. The transportation time between the application centers and Nairobi is published on the website of VFS Global.

The application process may be extended up to 45 days if documentation is missing or there is need for further investigation in the individual case.

It is therefore important to submit the application as soon as possible and with the required documents when you apply at VFS Global.
