Applicants may need to visit the Embassy in Nairobi in order to submit biometrics for the residence permit card (bring the passport registered in the application for identification).
Prior appointment is required and booked through email

Collection of Residence permit cards
Once the application has been granted by the Swedish Migration Agency and the applicant has submitted biometrics, it normally takes upto four weeks for the card to be produced and sent to the Embassy. The card will be sent to the Embassy unless the applicant has requested the residence permit card to be sent to an address in Sweden.
When the residence permit card arrives at the Embassy, the applicant will get an automatic e-mail to the e-mail stated in the application. You can then visit the Embassy along with your passport to collect your residence permit card during the opening hours of the Embassy on appointment basis only.
Residence permit cards are only a proof that the holder has a residence permit in Sweden. The card cannot be used as an ID card or a travel document.
The Embassy do not provide any courier services to personal addresses or Swedish Consulates.
If you are unable to collect your card at the Embassy
If you are unable to collect your card at the Embassy, you may authorize a third party to represent you in order to collect your card. An original signed power of attorney written in English, Swedish or Thai appointing someone else to collect the card on your behalf should be submitted to the Embassy when the card is collected. A copy of the representative's passport or ID should also be attached to the power of attorney in order to identify the representative on the applicant's behalf.
