The service is designed for students at all levels. It provides information on undergraduate courses, master programmes and opportunities for researchers.
If you are going to study in Sweden for longer than three months, you must have a residence permit.
If you will be studying for less than three months, you may need a visa instead.
You can apply for a residence permit online at the Swedish Migration Agency website
To find out which rules apply, which documents are required and how to apply, check the Swedish Migration Agency website.
If you are not able to apply online, send your application documents to the Embassy. After receiving your application, it will be sent by post to Migration Agency in Sweden.
If you apply for a residence permit at the Embassy, you need to pay the application fee in Rials to the Embassy's bank account. For more information regarding the fees please see Fees.
If you have applied online, you will receive an email stating that a decision has been made.
If you have applied at the Embassy, you need to check for the decision at the Swedish Migration Agency website.
