Changes for those residing in Cyprus who wish to apply for residence and work permit

Citizens of Cyprus have until now turned to the Swedish Embassy in Nicosia for applications for residence and work permit. As from March 17, 2025, the Embassy in Nicosia will no longer handle migration related matters.

This means that when you have submitted your application for residence and work permit after March 17, 2025, you should contact the Embassy of Sweden in Athens, Greece, for interview, passport check, biometrics etcetera.

The same applies for those who are not citizens of Cyprus but legally resides there.

To book an appointment for interview, passport check or to leave your biometrics you should contact the Embassy of Sweden in Athens.

If you already have applied for residence and work permit and have a booked interview at the Embassy in Nicosia or if you are waiting for a residence permit card, you will still be able to do the interview or collect the residence permit card at the Embassy in Nicosia.
