As an EU member, Sweden participates in shaping the common trade policy of the European Union. The main objective of the trade policy of the EU is to promote greater freedom of international trade.
The EU–Egypt Association Agreement entered into force on 1 June 2004. One important part of the agreement is the facilitation of trade between the two markets through the establishment of a Free Trade Area.
